Chapada Diamantina (BA) - Gives Father Ignatius Welcome

A few hours after we left the road Bom Jesus da Lapa and finally spotted. Loin, the towering rock formations grew in the landscape like a giant awoke as we approached. The Chapada Diamantina bright eyes and charms at first sight even more closely. With 110 km long (north-sul) and handheld devices with atrativos, or National Park, that hosts this natural beauty, is one of the largest and most diversified of Brazil.

Recommendations from friends took us to the nice sheets, BA, Plated in central city, where there is great infrastructure to receive tourists. Sheets offers wide range of campsites, B & Bs, restaurants and travel agencies, also has a privileged location in relation to the attractions of the Park. It was a very nice place to relax between one track and another.

How to practice, come in search of a place to spend the night with Tanajura. Ativan negotiating mode and run the city. That's when we know Caio, son of Alcinous Inn, a traditional inn in the input sheets. He received us very well and agreed that dormíssemos in their parking lot and also we used the infrastructure of the hostel. Perfect! The Inn was extremely warm, filled with ceramic ornaments made by their owners.

It had everything we needed: clean bathrooms, Internet and washing machine roupa. Not to mention the breakfast in the morning! Ah, Coffee Morning! No doubt, an event apart. We could spend hours there (and we), on the wide variety of options, atenciosamente served at all times on the table.

Amid the plethora of attractions in Chapada, decided to seek expert help to optimize our time in the region. For indication of Caio, went straight to the Out of Track, agency located in Rua da Pedras and offers all kind of sightseeing tour in Chapada. A wise decision! There we met and Aline Luhan, who were extremely friendly and helpful with us, even with the many questions that we stopped not to do. They gave us several tour options, that have been adjusted according to that found most interesting to. In the end, left there with a schedule of one week in the Chapada Diamantina, even if the will were to be at least the entire month.

First day of sightseeing, decided to make the script of the caves. After breakfast in the morning, find our guide, Harebol, the inn. The guy was a figure! Of those people who are lucky to know in life, with many stories to tell. We'll talk more about him forward. We went into the Mucugezinho, where is the Devil's Pool. The name comes from the days when slaves were sick or disabled thrown there. The waterfalls form the head, língua and a throat to do diabo. Nonetheless, Pit is a good place for a waterfall bath.

The next destination of the script was Torrinhas, the paradise of cavers. A cave stalactites and stalagmites inúmeras shelters, addition of crystals. We made the simplest script that costs $ 15 and provides about an hour's walk through the cave with flashlights in hand to address the main cave formations. Very interesting for us, since it had never entered so in a cave!

We continued toward Pratinha, where we contemplate the beauty of the Blue Grotto (where in incrível) and relax in a bath pond. There was also paid $ 15 for access to attractions.

Moreover, everything is paid in the Chapada. To close the day with a flourish, setting of the sun under the view of Father Ignatius! Indescribable! No doubt, the highlight of the tour! Photo mentally filed for the rest of life!

The first day significantly increased the expectation for the coming days in the Chapada. Mainly because the next day, would make the track Pati Valley, considered the third best in the world, just behind the Camino de Santiago and the Inca Trail to Machu Pichu. There are approximately 60 km walk 4 Vale days. Experience in Pati is so rich that it deserves a separate post, why not go into great detail now.

Turning give Pati, physically exhausted, took two days relax in the Chapada. In one, enjoyed more Sheets. Relax at the inn, walk through town and stopped for pizza at the end of the day in the Pizza People. We heard it was the best pizza in the region, but the Italian was prepared them somewhat crazy. And find out why! A principle, the pizza was really delicious, the service very friendly, everything was in line. Was! We do not know how or why, but the Italian began yelling at the woman in a way that we are constrained by time. We were then kindly informed that he would not do our third pizza, because it was "good" and it was too late! Demos Risada.

What happened was exactly as described in, seemed part of the show. It was a fun day.

The next day, ran a few miles to visit the Blue Well. An expanded version of the Blue Grotto, in which the bath was allowed. The sun's rays entering through the cracks of the cave lit up the water that shone in a blue very much alive. It's hard to describe the beauty of the place. There was also the Enchanted Well, which is still greater, but we prefer to let the next opportunity.

The Chapada Diamantina was the place where we spend more time, was our home for a few days. It became difficult to say good-bye, but the expedition has to follow. New day, new home! And although even!
