Factsheet 4×1

Date: 03/06/2012 à 05/06/2012

From: Sao Paulo-SP

Destination: Patrocínio-MG

Distance: 698 km

Travel time: 9 hours (including stops for bathroom and photos)

Path: Anhanguera Highway (SP-330) ate Uberaba-MG; BR-262 in Araxá-MG direction, em seguida BR-452 até a estrada que leva a Patrocínio-MG, passando por Perdizes-MG.

Where to sleep: House Renatinho

What eat different: Tilapia with fries at the restaurant Traíra;

Tire cheio: Waterfall deserted classroom and coffee farm in Daterra. A visita ao negócio de café do Grupo DPaschoal foi uma surpresa extremamente positiva.

Tire murcho: Wrong way, faz part! Erred in choosing the path and longer than we wanted on the road. O caminho passando por Nova Ponte em Minas é mais rápido e mais curto.

Patrocínio (MG) – Home inspiring

Tanajura tidy, luggage and equipment on board, goodbyes properly made. The Expedition 4×1 departed at noon at the University of São Paulo towards their first destination: Patrocínio-MG. The city was in our planning from the earliest discussions script, as a tribute to our great friend Renatinho, who lived with us for a long time in the Republic Incasapas and saw near our intense routine planning. On the way, the excitement of finally being on the road. The town was almost 700 km from São Paulo by Anhanguera, through Uberaba. The snacks prepared by mothers, As in high school, were our lunch along the way, that Durou cerca de 9 horas com as constantes paradas para foto.

Arriving in Sponsorship, it was night. Then we installed in the house of Vieira, onde dona Wilma (mother of Renatinho), which unfortunately was not present due to a conference in another city, and his father, Your Castilho, haviam preparado os quartos para passarmos a noite. We were so hungry that the first thing we did was in town to eat tilapia fried in a traditional restaurant Trafra and have a beer in celebration of the first target achieved. Always nice to spend time with friends!! The first night's sleep of the trip was reassuring, livre daquele peso de não haver dado início ao projeto ainda.

Our Sponsor, a DPaschoal, knowing our script, invited us to meet a group of business: Farm Daterra, that produces the highest quality coffee, voltado para exportação.

Sponsorship is a major production hub and has a land and climatic conditions more suitable for this crop in the country. Without hesitation, accept the invitation. The Renatinho accompanied us on this visit. We were greeted by Gerson, security manager job, that led us to the farm, presenting the entire chain, from harvesting and processing the coffee classification. Muito interesting. We could see the vast difference in quality coffee that is exported to what is consumed domestically and which we still like both. Halfway through, Renato know (photo), What surprised us by his deep knowledge of the coffee business. He worked there 11 years on the farm, getting there as an assistant and now coordinating the cleaning sheds property. Passamos horas conversando com ele e aprendemos muito sobre o mercado de café.

Our curiosity about the business itself surprised our hosts. They believed that we were there to see the waterfall located within the property, that in our view, was in the background. This is not because we knew. We went inside the farm with Tanajura, led by Gerson, to get to the trail leading to the waterfall. Ups and downs in the jungle and surprise: the waterfall was amazing! Deserted, surrounded by vegetation, made us feel as if we had found a treasure in an uninhabited island. Belíssima vista.

End of day, returned to the house and did that Renatinho BBQ. It was Bruno's birthday, and that this! Sponsorship was a great experience to begin the journey. We had a great time with friends, infinitely increase our knowledge of coffee and take that bath in the waterfalls in a landscape of shining eyes. If the first day were then, imaginamos como serão os próximos.
